
He was the creative producer and managed RuPaul’s image for the show. Mathu worked for several seasons of America's Next Top Model, and was known for his work on RuPaul’s Drag Race. In 2002, Mathu moved to Los Angeles where, in addition to continuing his fashion and artistic work, he has worked on music videos with artists like Janet Jackson, TLC, No Doubt, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Garbage, Christina Aguilera, Nicole Scherzinger, Lisa Marie Presley, and Nicole Richie. His clients have included the top names in beauty and fashion such as Dolce & Gahanna, Louis Vuitton, Covergirl, Lancome, Donna Karan, Shiseido, Thierry Mugler and Barneys New York. His work has been seen in Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Face, ID, Glamour, Allure, Cosmopolitan and more. Mathu has worked with photographers including Francesco Scavullo, Steven Meisel, Steven Klein, Arthur Elgort, Annie Liebovitz, Deborah Turbeville, Ellen von Unwerth, Ruven Afanodor, Guzman, and Joseph Astor. Mathu moved to New York in 1986 and subsequently formed a partnership with Zaldy Goco as a NYC nightlife fixture during the 90’s.
